Fall in Love!

I have to admit….I love turning in my bible and hearing the pages as I look for the passage I seek for that particular time;  anxious to see what HE is going to show me at that moment,  anticipating the “NEXT” big word…..yet sometimes I get there read, study, analyze and…..nothing..  Nothing stands out, nothing rings true to my core,  nothing motivates me to change the world….NOTHING!!!!!!

 Lord – what is this!?  Did I miss your guiding?  Did I lose my place and read the wrong part?  UGH! 

But then I SEE!  Sometimes I look too HARD, others NOT hard enough.  Sometimes I am seeking because I have something I NEED Him to answer!!  I NEED Him to tell me what to do or how to “Fix” something….

Now - we can look for all those reasons but I think sometimes….sometimes He wants us to just “get to know who HE is”.  Just to get familiar with HIS character.  I mean think about it….how can we “worship” “serve” “sell out our lives” to someone we really don’t know… YES His word provides answers to our lives and it’s LIVING and by obeying the word will certainly “change us”….But HE desires our RELATIONSHIP!  He desires our HEART!  He wants us to FALL COMPLETELY in love with HIM!  A robot obeys commands because it was designed to do so. 

We were designed to LOVE.  We obey because we LOVE.  We can only LOVE by knowing who HE is.  When we meet someone we don’t TRUST their opinions, advice, etc. right away!  Do we??  NO!  It takes time to get to know them. 

Maybe the reason we grow tired, frustrated and doubtful so quickly is because we are looking for the “how to” in His word too often and not seeking the Character of WHO He is……

Let’s turn in our bibles today and FALL IN LOVE with Jesus!
